TFC - Creative Social Network
Empowering creative individuals in the fashion industry
Brief
The Freelancer Club was going through a complete redesign and usability optimisation. They wanted to enhance their jobs and creative collaborations as well as create a mobile app based on the web platform.
They identified four key user needs and requested the following flows:
• Post a quick job
• Post a detailed job
• Hire a team
• Test shoot
Optimising the current range of features
When conducting a UX audit on the existing range of features offered, it was clear to see users had too many similar options when selecting what time of project to post. This was validated when gathering user feedback.
I optimised the offering of four different project types into just two:
Test shoot: (later changed to collab) a social gathering of creatives to enhance their portfolio of work and experience.
Hire a freelance: the more traditional (paid) post job user flow.
My Role
I was the sole UX/UI designer on the project, focusing on the restructure and redesign of the web platform. Once a mobile UI designer joined the team we synced to ensure consistency in design and function.
What I did
I mapped and conducted a UX audit on the current user flows and gathered the business requirements. I then optimized the existing user flows, reducing it from the long tedious flow that caused drop out before completion to the necessary steps only.
I then designed a new feature, to help increase engagement with project posted: the mood board. Users would be able to add images to their projects to visually communicate their inspiration, ideas and requirements for a specific post. Above you can see the iterations from wireframes, the old designs to the final once. These were tested with users for validation.
I also improved the hiring dashboard, which now included new features such as: like or dislike a creative, shortlist, view multiple types of creatives per discipline and a better preview of portfolios at a glance.
